Hillcrest Christian Fellowship is a praying congregation. Besides the “normal things,” what does that mean for us?
1. We are committed not only to praying for each other, but also with each other.
When was the last time you had someone pray for you? Don’t know? How about the last time you had someone pray with you? When we don’t pray with each other, we deprive ourselves of an opportunity to lift each other up before the Lord. This means that we are committed to lifting people up before God in prayer. When a need for prayer is expressed, our intention is to bring both it and the person being prayed for before the Lord.
2. We recognize those in our church family whose gifts and calling are to serve the church by focusing on prayer.
The idea that “there is nothing left to do but pray” is perhaps the worst statement on prayer ever penned. Everything begins with prayer, and all Christians are called to it. There are also those among our body who are especially dedicated to this. They pray daily, meeting together and sharing prayer requests for the purpose of knowing God more intimately and holding up the needs of the congregation and our world.
3. We pray for our children.
Every child in our congregation has at least one prayer partner. These prayer partners, (with parental involvement and permission), partner with the family to lift each child up in prayer.
Do you have a prayer request? It would be our privilege to pray for you! Let us know how we can through the “prayer tab” on the right.
