This is our call. This is our mission. Hillcrest Christian Fellowship is a community of Jesus Followers who are committed to worshiping together and following Jesus as he leads us into our city. Our church has been ministering in the Skagit Valley since 1889. Despite being present in Mount Vernon since before indoor plumbing, we continue to look ahead to where God sends us next. We are a people that don’t exist for ourselves. We believe that God’s call for our church is to be a blessing to the community where it lives. If your looking for a church that takes seriously Jesus’ call to follow Him and to GO make disciples- we might be the place for you.
In order to live out our calling, Hillcrest is committed to four ways of living and worshiping together:
1. A people formed by the Scriptures
It all begins with knowing God. In order for us to be a blessing to our community, we have to make sure that we know who God is and walk the narrow road, following in Christ’s footsteps. Hillcrest reads and studies the Bible together and is committed to letting God speak into our lives.
2. A people devoted to Prayer
It’s not all about us. We recognize that any power for transformation or witness that we have comes from God. Hillcrest is committed to the inward journey of knowing God through prayer and seeking His leading as we walk together.
3. A people celebrating God’s story.
Where is God moving? What is God doing? Hillcrest is committed to sharing and celebrating the areas in our lives where God is molding, leading, and shaping us.
4. A people GOING together into the world.
Beginning with the call to Abraham, God began forming a people to be a blessing to world. Hillcrest takes seriously our role to discern and support each other in our call to be Christ’s ambassadors to our community. What’s your calling?
